Discover how the Harris Tweed Story Room offers an immersive journey into the world of Harris Tweed, beginning with a captivating short film that introduces the fabric's stories past and present. Be guided through the industrial history and development of Harris Tweed, gaining insights into the intricate processes within the mills. Watch a live demonstration by a weaver on a loom, gaining firsthand insight into the intricate craftsmanship. Visitors will also have the chance to jump on the loom and make some tweed themselves. The tour also explains the meticulous processes within the mills and the regulations binding weavers, mills, and the authority that make the industry unique. Learn how The Story Room also highlights the vital role of the Harris Tweed Authority in protecting and preserving this cherished piece of tangible heritage. Tours are available on the hour, every hour, from Monday to Friday, starting at 10:00 AM, with the last session beginning at 2:00 PM

 

Guide Prices

Tickets are priced at £10, children go free and dog friendly premises.
