About
Nestled in a beautifully restored former mission hall, Snowberry Cottage has recently (March 2025) been awarded the only four star self catering accommodation award from the AA on the Isle of Lewis, and offers a cosy retreat for up to four people on the picturesque Westside of the Isle of Lewis. The cottage features ample on-site parking for two to three cars and secure bicycle storage.
Inside, you'll find a well-equipped kitchen with modern appliances, including a washing machine, electric cooker, microwave, dining area, and a fridge freezer. If you prefer dining out, there's a restaurant just a five-minute walk away (booking in advance is recommended, and the restaurant is closed on Sundays).
The comfortable lounge is equipped with a Smart TV, a selection of books, and board games for entertainment. Outside, the enclosed garden has a charming decked area with garden furniture for relaxation.
The cottage has two bedrooms—one with a king-size bed and the other with two singles—ideal for a party of four. Please note that Snowberry Cottage is not suitable for children under six, and occupancy is limited to four individuals.
Located on a well-connected bus route (W1) and just a 25-minute drive from Stornoway, Snowberry Cottage is conveniently situated for exploring the area. The village of Borve, within walking distance, offers a hotel with a restaurant and pub (booking essential), a convenience store, a doctors' surgery, and a rocky shoreline for leisurely strolls.
Nearby attractions include historic sites and opportunities for wildlife watching. Snowberry Cottage is also a great stop for travellers on the Hebridean Way, with its minimal light pollution making it an excellent spot for viewing the Northern Lights.
It's important to pre-book ferries or flights to the island, as any additional charges due to transportation issues are the responsibility of the traveller.
