About

Otter Cottage sleeps six in comfort with three bedrooms (master en-suite shower/toilet, a second double bed, twin bedroom) and a second shower/toilet.

The private car park provides for one large or two smaller cars. Stock up with food at our local island store which is also a fantastic bistro (The lobster Pot) or visit the shop in Lochmaddy or the Co-Op at Sollas (20 minutes drive).

The kitchen is is equipped with electric cooker/oven, dishwasher, and ample cooking and eating utensils. Bed linen, towels, toilet paper, soap, shampoo, washing powder are supplied. The cottage is equipped with Wi-Fi, washing and drying machines and heated by electric heaters in each room. A cozy log /peat fire is available for colder nights. Minimum £20 value of Electricity is provided on arrival. Thereafter, top up the Pay-As-You-Go Meter at the nearest Post Office (Lochmaddy).

Step outside to find yourself amid nature’s theatre – Explore Berneray’s powdery white sand beaches and hand pick cockles for your lunch. Meet our fishermen at the harbour and take home some lobsters, crabs, and langoustine for a hearty meal.

With Otter Cottage as your base, explore the Uists all the way to Eriskay or take the ferry from Berneray to Harris and Lewis, returning to your cozy cottage in the evening.

*The entire cottage can be booked on our website for £120 per night for a minimum of three nights stay in Peak Season (1 May to 30 September and 20 December – 5 January). Short breaks for £90 per night for a minimum of two nights are available during the Low Season (6 January to 30 April and 1 October to 20 December). We offer 15% Discount for Long Stay (7 nights or more) or Early Booking (180 or more days prior to arrival). 25% non-refundable deposit is required to secure the booking.
